(Solved) Failed to load CSS
« on: September 08, 2009, 11:28:36 pm »

I don't want to open another topic asking the same question, but i'm tired of searching, so here it is:
I'm testing this local, so i can't hand you a link, but the problem is the same, the browser doesn't load the css file and the source code says(with firebug):

Code: [Select]
<link media="screen" href="css/style.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet">
Failed to load source for: http://localhost\/css/style.css
(please observe the localhost\/css)

i've been reading the forum for a few hours now and the solution (after going through everything else) apears to be connected with

$db['website'] = 'http://www.your-domain.com/';

but! i don't have $db['website'] inside my snews.php and i don't know where i could place it.

The \/  back slashes appear all over the code, right after /localhost, breaking up my links

Welcome kreatur. :)

You've been reading 1.6 topics.
$db['website'] is not used in 1.7

Find    define('_SITE',site()); and replace site() with
'http://localhost/directory/', where 'directory'  is the name of the folder where index.php resides.

What system are you running where the backslash shows?

Well, i'm sure i've also read some 1.6 topics, but after Search failed me i just went through the pages on the 1.7 thread but did not find any other solution there either. The other thing that failed me was the Troubleshooting and FAQ which i took for granted, but obviously the info on that page(http://snewscms.com/faq/faq/) is obsolete because it gives the $db['website'] solution.

Thank you very much, Joost, your solution solved my problem.

I'm on Windows XP SP3.
