Removing Pages " Contact, Archive, Site Map "
« on: July 25, 2009, 08:00:00 pm »

I realize that these are the meat of the navigation. However, my client ( or whom I'm just working with ) must go without them. I tried looking through the .snews php and remove the information regarding these posts but I realize that's not the most effective way to go about doing so.

I'm also not very sure that this is the correct section for this, if not I do apologize. Help would be greatly appreciated or at least to be pointed in the right direction.

Thank you!

locate function pages()
comment out
Code: [Select]
<?php

$class = ($categorySEF == 'archive') ? ' class="current"' '';
echo '<li><a'.$class.' href="'._SITE.'archive/">'.l('archive').'</a></li>';
$class = ($categorySEF == 'contact') ? ' class="current"''';
echo '<li><a'.$class.' href="'._SITE.'contact/">'.l('contact').'</a></li>';
$class = ($categorySEF == 'sitemap') ? ' class="current"''';
echo '<li><a'.$class.' href="'._SITE.'sitemap/">'.l('sitemap').'</a></li>';

?>

Sorry, I'm partially illiterate to you terms of "comment out."

I've located the function pages() { in snews.php.

// finally understood the statement, tried it out and it worked.

Thank you very much, glad that I now understand that term as well lol. ( maybe a little more sleep would help in times like this )

anyways, thanks!

1) Find:

Code: [Select]
<?php

$l
['cat_listSEF'] = 'archive,contact,sitemap,login,';

?>

.. and remove there respective names.

2)

Find function pages. Remove:

Code: [Select]
<?php

$class = ($categorySEF == 'archive') ? ' class="current"' '';
echo '<li><a'.$class.' href="'._SITE.'archive/">'.l('archive').'</a></li>';

?>

and

Code: [Select]
<?php

$class = ($categorySEF == 'contact') ? ' class="current"''';
echo '<li><a'.$class.' href="'._SITE.'contact/">'.l('contact').'</a></li>';
$class = ($categorySEF == 'sitemap') ? ' class="current"''';
echo '<li><a'.$class.' href="'._SITE.'sitemap/">'.l('sitemap').'</a></li>';

?>

Remove:
function archive
function contact

and
function sitemap

That's it.

I think that's laid out a lot simpler joost, I hope this also helps someone else in the future.
