Sites hacked? i get a 500 internal server error
« on: February 18, 2009, 11:39:00 am »

All my snews (6) sites are inaccesible due to an internal server error 500. The weird thing is that all my wordpress/joomla etc sites are fine but all my snews 6 sites get an internal server error.

could it be a malicious attack where somebody got acces and inserted some shitcode in the  files? i did not find any irregularities.

If you are on a shared host, it might be a permission change from the hoster. Like (for instance) if they installed or upgraded to new php version.
Anyways, check to see if permissions of index.php are set to 644 (if they are set to 666 or 777, you'll get the 500 error).

For all of the above I assume that nothing changed on your part, of course  ;)

Possibly to many connections to the DB... I get that from time to time when designing and uploading a lot... Useally gets ok after 20 minutes or so... Just a thought.

Harry,

Is this issue solved?
These sites run sNews 1.6?
