Uploading/deleting mp3
« on: February 23, 2008, 08:11:00 pm »

A client of mine contacted me about uploading mp3 files. I finally got him to maintain his own site (lucky me). It seems there is no visual (page /files/) on mp3. So no way to delete mp3 or upload mp3. Anyone who knows something about the issue?

in snews?
Why not adding the file formats here:
$l['allowed_files'] = 'php, htm, html, txt, inc, css,js,swf'; // list of file types available for upload/file list routine

Thanks Jason

I have a visual, but it stops uploading after a while, showing an error.

How big are the files, you may need to edit php.ini...

Maybe there is a alternative way:

Zip mp3 file and upload, you can see a example in my sNewsgallery for unzip files. If you need help, tell me.

Unless the server erases mp3 after upload, so you have a problem.

Thanks Rui,  but it is a client having the problem. I don't wanna make it complecated for him. So it looks like I will have to will have to instruct him on using a ftp client or do it for him, ones every 3 or 4 months.

Update: Read something about php_value max_execution_time. I will look into that some other time.

Thanks guys.

I found that all my ISP host servers limit upload file-sizes to 2MB and I was told this is a standard for most, if not all ISPs unless you have a dedicated server all to yourself and have them change it just for your purposes. I learned this exploring and working with File Management systems for a fellow sNoozer last year who had a law firm that required such a system. So you never know... your server might have a similar limitation.
