How to create Page & Article under root folder
« on: August 26, 2007, 01:56:23 pm »

Hi,

Following are two issues :-

1) Page Creation

At present when a new page ( say "services" )  is added than it is created under "home" folder as shown below :-
http://www.freehostingindia.com/home/services/

What I need is to put it under the root folder like this
http://www.freehostingindia.com/home/services/

2) Article Creation

At present when an article is created than it is created either under "home" folder or under our own defined created categoy as shown below :-

http://www.freehostingindia.com/domain/my-domain-article/

What I need is to put it under the root folder like this
http://www.freehostingindia.com/my-domain-article/

Simple solution will be to allow the root folder option also under the existing "drop down box" so that as per the need any page /article can be created under any folder of choice ( root /home /category)

As I noted in answer to your post on adding file extensions to sNews URLs... you will have a fairly trouble-free experience with sNews as long as you stay away from trying to force the sNews engine from doing things it was not designed to do.  ;)

What you are wanting to do is not possible with sNews.  You can rename the "home" portion of the url, but you cannot remove it.

Let me go deeper in the programming level ( which I was trying to avoid due to time availability), I am positive that some good alternative can be found out.

When in a Jumbo application like word press it is possible so definitely in SNews also it should also be possible.
