[FONTS] FireFox Issue again?
« on: August 18, 2007, 10:18:43 pm »

I don't know why but in IE and Opera the text looks same, but in FireFox(I'm tired with that crap already) it's different.

Here's the code:

Code: [Select]
someName {

font: 10px Arial;

}
Test it please... How can I solve this?

Works fine for me... it looks identical in both IE6 and Firefox 1.5.0.12... as long as I have a dot in front of somewhere and I wrap the text with div=class. Try bumping it up to 14px to see if you can "see" the difference.

Yeah... I know... when the "updater" comes on screen while I'm working... I've been in the habit of just saying "no" to stop being interrupted. Guess I'll just have to be interrupted... eh?  :P

What type of selector are you trying to use?  Any id or class needs thier respected notation in front of it:
#id or .class.  p, em, h?, html, body, etc does not need anything in front of it.  But I am sure you know this.  Your example above does not work for me in FF 1.5 or in IE6

Such class
Code: [Select]
.someName {
font: 10px Arial;
}
in a paragraph
works the same for me in Opera 9, FF 2, IE6 and IE7.

Centered choose witch one you want, it's abvious that my example wont work without the prefix :) I didn't even give you an HTML code for testing it right? :)

Sven

For it deos not and for my friend and his friend...

Here is the demo, First Frame shows example from IE and second one from FF.. so maybe it does look same for you but not for me guys :)

I actually tried it with some html:

Code: [Select]
container { style; }and
Code: [Select]
#container { style; }Without seeing the rest of the CSS, I can only assume either browser defaults or suggest a full CSS reset.

If you notice here: http://www.solucija.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=36497#p36497

IE6 is on top and FF 1.5 is on the bottom

We can see that the first line of the first paragraph is shown differently from each browser:

CSS:
#primarycontent {
   margin-top: 20px;
   text-decoration: none;
   word-spacing: normal;
   letter-spacing: 0;
   text-indent: 0px;
   line-height: 1.8em;
   font-size: 1.1em;
   text-align: justify;
}

Even the li under Latest Comments or the Main tabbed menu or the search has a different font or font rendering.

I could of and maybe should did a browser reset so I can control everything...

Eric Meyer's Reset CSS
Code: [Select]
html, body, div, span, applet, object, iframe,
h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6, p, blockquote, pre,
a, abbr, acronym, address, big, cite, code,
del, dfn, em, font, img, ins, kbd, q, s, samp,

sub, sup { vertical-align: baseline; }
a { color: inherit; }
hr { display: none; } /* we don't need a visual hr in layout */
font { color: inherit !important; font: inherit !important; color: inherit !important; } /* disables some nasty font attributes in standard browsers */

Actually testing the defualt sNews 1.6 template with the resets show differently in Opera too...

It may just be the browser rendering...

You can always try sifR if it bugs you that much
