Question about version 1.6
« on: May 25, 2007, 02:38:34 am »

I went ahead and installed version 1.6 but I liked the look and feel of the prior version.

How can I use the same theme from earlier version 1.5 on 1.6?

thanks

The index.php (the template) and the stylsheet from 1.5 should work with 1.6 s.news.php (the engine).
However, in 1.6 index.php there is extra code to display RSS feed. If you want to display RSS, insert the following code in the 1.5  index.php. Place it in the body, where you want it to be shown. Add style through the stylesheet.
Code: [Select]

The rss feature is not important but from what I am understanding I should simply replace the index.php and everything will be fine? the site will look like 1.5?

Try the new engine (snews.php 1.6), without replacing the index.php (1.5) and style.css (1.5, or whatever stylesheet you are using) on the server. Unless you have heavily modded  the engine, everything should look the same.

I'm pretty sure that's the code, since I've been working on some MODs which I expect to release soon  :D
