Render of a 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 428 Super CobraJet. 3D model created and rendered with Autodesk Maya 6.5. This classic antique muscle cars is my dream hot rod/muscle car. I created this model and image as a lesson in modeling and rendering in Autodesk Maya. High poly modeling with a three image plane environment and a few garbage cans, some grass in the cracks of the concrete sidewalks and sign posts as props.

Well done Ralph... Actually it looks like a cross between a Mustang, a 66 Vette Sting Ray (front fenders) and a 1969 Camaro (back roofline and quarter panels).

This really brings back memories for me. I had a 1969 Mustang Mach 1 with a 428 (not a Cobra jet)... in blue and silver... fastback... for about 6 months. Before that I had (my first new car) a 1968 Camaro RS, 327, in Kelly Green (my favorite color). Comparing the two, I still liked my Camaro best as it was more stable on the road over 110 mph than the Mustang. The Mustang front-end tended to lift higher the faster it went, causing the steering to float (quite dangerous)... while the Camaro was the other way around... air forced the front-end down. The Camaro also topped out about 10 mph more... at 145 mph (about 230 kms/hr for you European lads). I wish I had both cars today... together they'd be worth about $200 grand in cherry condition. :)
