unique class/id for each menu item
« on: May 06, 2007, 12:15:14 pm »

Hello, I have a suggestion which would help many people customize this great CMS.

It is adding a separate class or id for each navigation menu list item.

I.e. instead of this:

  • Home

  • Archive

  • have something like this:

  • Home

  • Archive

  • this MOD would allow replacing text links in the menu with images, and the site could benefit from this aesthetically...

Welcome to the forum Ludovick :)
For  'home',  'archive', 'contact', and 'sitemap', it can be done easily. These list items are hardcoded in snews.php, starting on line 353 (// DISPLAY PAGES). For new pages, you will have to write a function. These links are generated through php.

On second thought it isn't that simple, because two classes occur  for the same element or a class and ID. That might cause trouble. Adding class or ID to the surrounding 'li' would be easy, but then you won't be able to use  hover in your class.
