/login is giving me Error 500 - Internal server error
« on: March 31, 2007, 05:58:14 am »

So I installed everything.
I don't know much about php or apache but I do know that when i run a php_info it doesn't say anything about mod_rewrite and I have no access to the httpd.conf

I am on 1and1 servers

any clue?

thanks in advance!

Call or e-mail your 1and1 servers tech assistance and ask them if they have the mod_rewrite module enabled in Apache's httpd.conf file and... if not, tell them you need it on. Some hosts won't enable it because (they say) it will compromise their server security. If the can't provide you with this feature... find another host that does.

Hi there,

Check the PHP info by using these links on 1and1 servers...

For version 3
http://links.1and1faqs.com/check_info.php3

For version 4
http://links.1and1faqs.com/check_info.php

For version 5
http://links.1and1faqs.com/check_info.php5

This should work on the 1and1 servers for .htaccess file...

Code: [Select]
# Don't show directory listings for URLs which map to a directory.
Options -Indexes

# Follow symbolic links in this directory.
Options +FollowSymLinks

# Set PHP5 for 1and1 hosting
AddType x-mapp-php5 .php

# Customized error messages.
ErrorDocument 404 /index.php

# Set the default handler.
DirectoryIndex index.php

# Override PHP settings. More in sites/default/settings.php
# but the following cannot be changed at runtime.

# PHP 4, Apache 1.

  php_value magic_quotes_gpc                0
  php_value register_globals                0
# php_value session.auto_start              0
# php_value session.use_trans_sid 0

# PHP 4, Apache 2.

  php_value magic_quotes_gpc                0
  php_value register_globals                0
# php_value session.auto_start              0
# php_value session.use_trans_sid 0

    php_value session.use_trans_sid 0
