a way to lock article to top of the page?
« on: March 11, 2007, 07:37:50 pm »

I'm looking for a way to create an article that always comes first in a category, and isn't automatically pushed down the page as newer articles are added. Much like a 'sticky' works here. I don't want to hard-code the article into the template, before the center function -- it should be editable like an article and belong to a category like an article. It just stays as the lead article.

This idea was raised a year ago without any further discussion:

Are there any new thoughts on it? If not I am prepared to try the Second Extra MOD before the center function, but I thought I'd ask first. :-)

I would add in the second "Extra" position and locate that within the main content container (in index.php) just above the center function statement. This will display whatever is in there at the top of any page at all times, and you will be able to choose whether it displays on the "home" or any other page you create. As Luka noted in that old post you referred to, his suggestion was to create another position option... and that would apply here too.
Do it now... later may not come.
