Pages in articles

Hello forum users and administrators,

This my first post on this forum, I found sNews very usufull for my needs, I was looking something like this for a long time ;).
In first, I want to ask about something, what I can't find by "search" on forum, I simply don't know how to ask "serach" to tell mi right answer, in any other problems and questions "search" was more helpful for me :). After two days (or rather nights) of searching I decide to write to You, I can see authors of sNews are rather frequently visotors here, and I think the answer will be simply link to other thread in forum, but I can't hit it :(.

I want to achieve something like in Mika's page:
http://www.ni5ni6.com/snews-mods/random-quote-script-and-much-more/

I want to split long articles to several pages, and put menu with numbered list of subpages. in example above this is:
Quote
Pages:
1. Random Quote Script A...
2. Language and Display...
3. Function center()
4. Administrative functi...
5. Processing the code
By searching this feature I find a lot nice and helpful sites, nice site Mika :)

Thank You for this CMS, and I hope You can help me :)

Regards,
skidoo

skidoo, we are waiting for Mika to tell us how as well.

I dare say, he will reveal all when he has the time to do so.

Here is a tutorial on Page Splitting Addon that works fine with sNews 1.4. I have not tried it with 1.5 but I assume that it will work with any version of 1.5 since it doesn't require any changes within the snews.php file. You can see it in action Here by clicking the button at the bottom of each page panel. Why not give it a try?

Yes, Your addon works fine (in sNews 1.5.31), but Mika's page splitting is in my opinion better (no offense :) ), I like this menu in right top and number of pages at bottom of the article in Mika's page.

None taken. Everything here is free for the taking. :)
I don't know how Mika has set up his mod... and I never really took a look at it until now (you got me intrigued!) Now that I did, I have a pretty good idea how it works. Actually, one of my offline template experiments uses something very similar but configured a bit differently... the page link menu doesn't open till you click a link to it. I will explore it more one of these days.

Mind you... it would be nice of Mika to share his mod with us. :)

I made mod, which adds functionality from this thread. If You got down here then go to:

[MOD] Long articles splitted in subpages
