Not sure if I'm doing this right, I want to challenge you to a snews 1.5 theme .psd war thinger. ? I think that makes sense.

The challenger (DENiAL) challenges the challengee :lol:  (4Sandrix) to a snews 1.5 theme .psd war. So be it....

RULES OF ENGAGEMENT:

mission:
sNews version 1.5 template psd (with existing demo of course.)
theme:
Garden
colors:
The colors may be used in anyway, as a part of layout or as font-color or whatever, but they
should all be a part of the design.

only rule here is: fixed 800 px width
allowed images:
ANY image is allowed as long as its from http://www.sxc.hu/ or self made in PS.
Time span:
Challenge will end at 18:00 CET on Friday evening. (this might be changed if both contestants do agree upon this).

Apart from this your imagination should run wild.... So, good luck to both of ya. 18:00 CET on Friday there should appear two entries benieth this post containing one url to a demo consisting of a PNG image.

VOTING:
Will NOT begin until 18:00 CET friday has passed, and both have posted an entry. If one should not comply - this must be concidered - FORFEIT ! The voring will go on until sunday 12:00 CET (to allow most members here to vote of course)

Side note:
Post changing, post deleting or whatever is something that a mod/administrator can and have the authority to do. That goes with the job. And if things isn't according to stated guidelines, I do change as I see fit. If you do not agree with my changes or just don't like it or me, please feel free to notify Luka for appropriate actions.

I will however take your opinion in consideration, and PM you if I ever have to change one of your posts again.

His design is really nice. Colors are exactly what design needs (Header picture too) :)

DENiAL's design, very simple and also I don't like site colors and menu. Also that plants are unsuitable. Sorry :)

It has that 'wild' and less formal look to it, while still maintaining a clear structure.

4Sandrix' is very formal, manicured even. While that is good, it is also (ehem... sorry) commonplace.

Both are good (far better than I could do), but I prefer less formal...

Great work on both submissions - far better than anything I would come up with (which is why I am not competing, hehe). Very hard to vote on as each design would be used in different applications... Denial's for a simple blog and Sandrix's for a site that would carry a wider variety of content entry points on the home page. It's almost like comparing oranges to apples rather than oranges to oranges.

If I must pick one over the other tho... I'll pick Denial's for its simplicity and easier-reading large text (for better accessibility.) One could just add a text-resizing feature (stylesheet switching) to offer different text-size options.

Both designs are very very nice but my vote goes to 4Sandrix.

I find typography, paragraph's padding and margin important and 4Sandrix gave more attention to it. But other than that, both are pretty good.
