Anyone here got any understanding of display an RSS feed on your website.  The current code I have seems to work locally but not on my server?

www.ruthinweather.co.uk

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hm, well...if you had performed a search you would have found a bunch of threads about this. There is one called "The final RSS thread" which holds one solution: http://forum.solucija.com/viewtopic.php?id=981

Hold on  - I think that Grudgeuk is looking for a way to display an external RSS feed as content on his page? At least that what it looks like you're doing on ruthinweather.

It's not too difficult - I can't be as I managed to get it right. I read the tutorial and used the code here. I needed two feeds from different sources on one page, which complicated matters a little.

See if that helps grudgeuk, otherwise let me know what you're looking for.

You are quite correct it is an external feed.  I will look at your suggestions and get back to you.

On the site that has that demo that I sent you, there is a discussion about a problem like this that some people had over in forum.
Basically, they suggest changing the permissions on your /rssfeed directory to 777.

See if that helps, otherwise I can show you how I did it. Also, yesterday I was playing around and found a different way to pull news onto your site, you can see it on my site. (Sorry about the colours there, haven't got to the CSS yet)

Tried everything and it looks as though my host has switched off the ability to use any function that grabs information from other sites. :(

I am going to speak to my host provider today.

Well, you may try this software, I am strating using it and works fine:  http://barkerjr.net/webdesign/CafeRSS/

You can "insert" many feeds into your pages easyly.

Also, I am looking the other was mentioned here... Thanks for the tip
