Title: Redirection loop
Post by: eZe on October 24, 2008, 10:04:14 am
Hi,

i'm using snews with xampp. I can access snews (index opens, no error). But when I try to login as an admin, the browser go to :
http://localhost/snews/login/administration/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/

and displays an error message : "this web page present a redirection loop - The web page at http://localhost/snews/login/administration/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/404/ has triggered too many redirections. Delete the cookies relatives to this site should make this work blabla" something like that.

I did not triggerd anything at all in the *.php, just touch the css.

Thanks for the help, and sorry for english-massacre.

What's the reason you think it is a bug in sNews? It could be an issue in xamp.

Yep you're right. Didn't thought about that. PLUS I had the same snews version installed on my hosting & I had no error. I guess you're right, but xampp is really wide-used so I thought maybe this bug occured once and someone has a clue :)

EDIT: In fact, that doesn't work that great on my hosting. the admin link goes nowhre, just open the index again without doing anything. I think I'm going to restart from scrach.

@ Eze... maybe tell us a little more about the sNews package you are working with. Is it a non-altered default 1.6 package, installed as it came without any modifications (other than the dbase settings)... or have you made any changes within its index, php or news.php files?

It was with a clean install, last snews release. I can't work on it right now, but as soon as I'm on it, if the thing shows up again (I hope not) I'll come back.
Thanks for the support and your great job.
