Huhaaaaa, that's a MODDED version. How slow is this, or does it operate as fast as before ?

One do need Mika's Styling comments MOD, of course: http://www.ni5ni6.com/snews-mods/comments-area-styling-and-visuals/
And of course, Philmoz's hidden articles (http://www.solucija.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=4528)

I'll integrate these two mods soon and about the speed of this modded sNews...
Well, seriously I've not checked with any counter (I'll put one) but If you want, I send to you the user/pass for check it out. The actually speed is almost the same... no wait appreciable in any task .

Ok. found something that I don't know if it's a bug or if it's just something missed out of during the whole 1.6 upgrade, I don't even know if it's any danger with it, but it do not feel good...

Ok, I have tested this on two installs beside's your megamod one, Bram: (taking it in the exact order I've done it.)

Login to the site. Go to "New article", back up to "Admin" again, and log out. Now when logged out, use the browser back button, and press it a couple of times and a dialoque appears telling you about "your trying to load a page containing POSTDATA..." and so on, click ok there and your back inside administration area...

Is this supposed to be like this ? Seems to me like (and try to read it as a laymen, hehe, I have no idea whatsoever what I'm talking, ok ?) some sort of cookie should be deleted or something when logging out, so that it's not found when backing up like I have done one three sites now...

Ok, I'll stop ranting now, so that it won't get to complicated, hehe... Do I make any sense ?

Patric have you tested this with a unmodded sNews site?

If so i think this is a security issue and should be posted in the bugs forum.

Bram, just a heads up, I think the ButtonCart MOD needs some work.. I made an order, however I left all the fileds blank however I still got the 'Operation Completed Successfully' notification.

And there is no admin functions for the Cart at all?  Like view orders or anything?  This may be intended just a question :)

Very good demo.

Is there a possibility for adding the Password article protection to the DELETE function ?

Delete function?

When you edit  a new stuff, you have the editor and 2 options : Edit or Delete. I was wondering if there is a possibility to protect the Delete option with a password.
Is that clear enough ?  :)
Title: [MegaMod] for sNews 1.6 (in progress)
Post by: bramsyuur on June 17, 2007, 11:58:20 am
Yes, It's clear now  :)
Of course you can create this kind of modification into Delete function... but, my question is... Why? Why do you need a password protection for delete an article? :)
Title: [MegaMod] for sNews 1.6 (in progress)
Post by: stephane on June 17, 2007, 12:00:44 pm
Just to prevent a "bad action" for the end user !

But I think I made a mistake of my understanding for this protect function. I thought it was active when you are in Admin mode !

yes probably. And how you do that ?  :|
Title: [MegaMod] for sNews 1.6 (in progress)
Post by: bramsyuur on June 17, 2007, 01:56:50 pm
Simply, under JavaScript section, replace this:
Quote
// delete warnings
   function pop() {
      var agree=confirm("");
      if (agree) {return true;} else {return false;}
   }
With this one:
Quote
// delete warnings
   function pop() {
      var agree=confirm("");
      if (agree) {
         var agree2=confirm("");}
      if (agree2) {return true;} else {return false;}
   }
And add into your language variables this:
Quote
$l['warning_delete_2'] = 'Are you REALLY sure you want to delete this?';
I've added this modification into my online demo here (http://www.solucija.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=33056#p33056).

Yo, Bram-san... I have a suggestion, that isn't a MOD really, but rather a... stylish kind of thingy... And I was wondering, do this do anything to the snews or is it mearly a change in style ? And if so, I would like for it to make way into your MEGAMOD, as it offers a way to style admin area, that wasn't before...

In // comments:
change
Quote
echo html_input('form', '', 'post', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', 'post', db('website'), '');
to
Quote
echo html_input('form', '', 'post_log', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', 'post', db('website'), '');
And in // LOGIN
change:
Quote
echo html_input('form', '', 'post', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', 'post', db('website').'administration/', '');
to:
Quote
echo html_input('form', '', 'post_log', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', 'post', db('website').'administration/', '');
And in the same funstions, change admpanel to admpanel_1, and also inside administration form and settings form in the upper levels, so that it's possible to wrap those "boxes" inside a border and style it...

One might call these classes whatever, I have called them post_log and admpanel_1 for som reason. And this way the contact eg, is not styled the same way as the rest of the forms in which post resides....

Yet again, is there anything wrong in doing this, and ... if not, useful only to me ?

Oh, and more MOD's, hehe... The additional form (http://www.solucija.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=4689) would be a nice addition as would the  conditional appearance of extra() (http://www.solucija.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=4419) and the  Additional Article Position Options Mod (http://www.solucija.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1762) ... :lol:

God, Bram this one is never getting done, eh ;)

The MegaMOD looks very promising bram. Definitely will use this sNews for sure.

Here's what i've come up with an idea:
1. Will you put Shoutbox and image gallery on the site?
2. I have integrated SWF music player as well in my site, would you be able to put it up as MOD as well?
Here's what i gain from testing it : SWF music player (http://yohanes.budilelono.web.id/reviews/test-swf-music-player/) (Apparently works on 44Kbps MP3 only)
My instruction in Indonesian languages can be found here (http://yohanes.budilelono.web.id/reviews/flash-mp3-player/)
Instruction in english can be found here. (http://musicplayer.sourceforge.net/)
3. About the shopping cart, is there any shopping cart manager (to change the items(description, picture, dll), price and occurrence payment maybe?)and payment integration? (paypal, 2checkout,or egold)
4. Could you make an upload/download function of sNews (just like the file sharing function on rapidshare or turboupload, but this time without limit...)
5. PODcast or video cast maybe? It's just an idea, it will be interesting though.

Cheers bro.
Love what you have done here.

Hi Bramsyuur !
Congratulations for your megamod. I am new to sNews and was working on a mod version but I see you already have done all the hard job!
 - Do you have a link to download your sNews megamod ? Is it available to us ?
- Can we implement the megamod on top of my existing database with no change or should I rebuild the entire database after implementation of the megamod ?

Thanks a lot for answer  ;)

1.  Currently the MegaMod is unavailable to the public as I believe it is still being beta tested.
2.  The Database will require several changes to run the MegaMod.

Bramsyuur will be around in a couple of days with an update no doubt :)

Not that I am aware of. If anyone else did, it would noted here.

I never worked with Bramsyuur's MegaMod project because I was working on my first ME project at the same time and had already put most of the mods he started with into it. I added more mods to it to make my MESU project... and added more again to become my MEMU project. Over the past 6 months... I have made hundreds more changes to my MEMU+++ project (not available to download). My projects do not have Socializing site mods though... since I have no interest in them.

Well... I am willing to share my MEMU+++ sometime... but my only complete package is configured for a client and I have not yet had the time to make a set of generic templates for it. And with a busy summer and fall ahead of me... I may not get around to doing it until winter sets in where I live... about the middle of November.  ;D
