Title: php 7 issues ?
Post by: BuckyBob23 on June 11, 2019, 05:20:32 am
Hi - my webhost upgraded to php7 and i'm having some issues.
I can backtrace the error_log file ok
but I wanted to ask if there are specific areas that need rewriting/update
mysqli calls, for example ?

Using sNews 1.7.1

I am thinking to wipe it all out but keep the db side,
and restart with the error logging turned on - there's other stuff in my folders from an osCommerce install that might be some of the problem .

ok - after studying snews.php i see many places in which to modify for php7 usage , anything with 'mysql' call.
ug.

Has anyone done a mod to handle this, or no ?
If I write my own mod, I'm happy to share - is there a better place on the forum to discuss this ?
I can handle the recode work.

When I posted yesterday I had not done any deep dive.
I've done a deep dive since and see where I need to change, and have an idea of what to change,
but wanted to ask -

anyone else change there snews.php file for strict php7 compliance ?
