Hello,

I found this editor not long ago, and really liked how it looks/feels : http://xinha.webfactional.com/

You could try out their demo, if you want  :) : http://xinha.raimundmeyer.de/x_examples/ext_example.html

Is it possible to implement it to sNews 1.7?

Best regards,
Ingar

I'll be honest with you.

I take the look and I think it's not possible. I don't see php installer or using php directly.

But it's possible I'm wrong about this.

There are other html editors like:
- fckeditor, I think there is a mod to work with this editor
- Tinymce
- and I'm sure there is a lot options/editors

Thank's for your answer - and that you took time to look at it  :)

The editor is written entirely in java and php - and this guide tells how to install it on a "general" website:
http://xinha.webfactional.com/wiki/NewbieGuide

I would then imagine that it's "technically"  (but surely difficult) possible to use as editor in sNews 1.7...  ???

look for function form_articles
Code: [Select]
<?php

echo html_input('textarea''text''txt'$frm_textl('text'), '''''''''''2''100''''''');
buttons();

?>

This code outputsthe textarea and the buttons of the native sNews text editor. Remove the line  buttons();, add the needed javascript to the header of index.php . These are probably the only places (index.php and function form_articles) where modifications need to be made.
Follow their guidelines to add the script.

I have done it in my "sNews Theme Edition 1.9", in my dist you also have possibillity to jump/change default editor std sNews Editor or Xinha editor in settings. (Havent relased it as "public dist" yet but write me and y get a copy)

Not all plugins in Xinha works with IE,FF ... but std and some plugins work great :).

look  at: http://www.demo.ditsu.se/emeraldx/ for scree'ern and demo (sNews 1.8 TE )
