snews 1.7 MU
« on: October 26, 2008, 04:01:14 AM »

i did it for my own good, but can't be such egoist ;) it was very educational ....

it is meant to be testing purpose only !!! to find possible errors / bugs which may occur while porting MU functions. all changes are commented.

to create database, import snews17MU.sql
everything else - prety much the same as in snews 1.6 MU by Bob Baker except the speed

- fixed js user password change
- fixed problem with adding & editing category
- fixed edit link visibility

user password change (by the user) doesn't seem to be operating.
[edit] which is because the toggle js is not loading

oh, and btw, thanks for the effort in putting this together...
it just so happens that I may need mu as a basis for a site -- talk about timely ;)

Hello ha100.
Thank you very much, I'll see today your work.
When we had sNews RC (1), I did start MU but my free time was gone.

My ideia is doing MU but increase some capabilities what I had in my old version sNews MUS (diferent name).
I think with only 4 levels is too short.

Right now I'm busy doing first version sNews1.6 OOP.
It's almost finish.

Is there a fix for the User Password/ toggle js issue?

I tried it and logged in as admin. But I can't create new category or sub-category.
Anybody else tried it? Please confirm.

@ha100: Thanks for your efforts.

@ha100: Thanks for your efforts.

it is caused by diference in sql script, which will create tables, and call in processing() function in mysql_query("INSERT INTO "._pre.'categories ...

fixed, and original package has been updated.

cheers

I found that user deleting/freezing function is not working properly ;)

find:
Code: [Select]
case 'checkbox':
case 'radio': $check = $checked == 'ok' ? ' checked="checked"' : ''; $output = '<p>'.$input.$check.' /> '.$lbl.'</p>'; break;

change to:
Code: [Select]
case 'checkbox': $check = $checked == 'ok' ? ' checked="checked"' : ''; $output = '<p>'.$input.$check.' /> '.$lbl.'</p>'; break;
case 'radio': $check = $checked == 'ok' ? ' checked="checked"' : ''; $output = '<p>'.$input.$val.$check.' /> '.$lbl.'</p>'; break;

also it better to change 1502 and 1503 lines on snews17MU.php to:
Code: [Select]
echo html_input('text', 'name', 'name', $_SESSION['username'], '* '.l('name'), 'text', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '')."\r\n";
echo html_input('text', 'url', 'url', get_identity($_SESSION['id'], 'website'), l('url'), 'text', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '', '')."\r\n";

in this case registered users will not insert their username and web site manualy at every comment :)

you better say which function it is in, coz my ver. is little bit more changed, and lines are changed.
