With that in mind... it's kinda like going to another level with the Cats/SubCats mod... perhaps?

My thinking:

INDEX - Defined-pages
Category (user-defined title - parent)
- SubCategory 1 (user-defined title - child)
- Article-link

    - SubCategory 2 (user-defined title - child)

Nothing about multiple articles here...

Think about it another way.... now just an idea but a real world usage

Yeah... only problem right now is that I'm facing a big demand for this kind of structure
Quote
1. Section
1.a Category
1.b Article (Category)
***
2. Section
2.a Category
2.a.1 Category
2.a.2 Category
2.b Article (Category a.1 + Category a.2)

The clients I've talked to so far are less into subcategories, but do want main sections with categories within sections and articles that can be assigne to multiple categories (not multiple sections though). I know everyone's really busy with subCats and 1.7 -- but, is there any chance of realising this or should I fake it? I'm guessing I'll have to fake it... ;)

You know I have an alpha for this and you know it is in the works.  Subcategories was the framework to make this happen, it is done, now I will move full steam ahead on sections because it is important (of course after 1.7).

Whether you fake it or not is dependent on how soon you need it.....

Also:
2.b Article (Category a.1 + Category a.2)

I do know your push for 1 article to multiple categories.  I think in doing so restructures the articles table which was something I didn't want to do at the time....

The cure:
1. take away the category column
2. make a new table cate_articles
3. articleid are linked to 1 category per line like
article1 - category1
article1 - category2
article2 - categeogry1
article3 - category2

I can live without articles-in-multiple-categories, I think.

Of course.
Like, tomorrow. Unfortunately.
Is the Alpha version you have usable? ;)
