I just want to rely on a simple and database-less CMS.
I tried many Flat-files and SQLite scripts.
I think sNews is good and simple but the original depended on MySQL which not simple to transfer or migrate.

By the way, i tried also snLite but I got  some errors with it, maybe mod_rewrite is not working ok.
I use XAMPP 1.5.5 with PHP4 and PHP5.

snLite is not a flat file system.

what features are you looking for where 1.4 text-db does not give you?

It's nice, but I just want a small WYSIWYG editor with image uplaoder.

and I got some error messege, then I commented line 306 in "snews-txtdb.php" file:
// $query = mysql_real_escape_string(addslashes($query));

And it's better to make sNews1.6-txtdb or sNews1.7RC-txtdb with new features of original sNews.

As a bit of history... the sNew 1.4 textdb version was put together by the author who needed it to suit his needs... and he happened to share it with sNews members at the time. It would be great if someone did take on the task of making a 1.6 or 1.7 text-db version... but it is not on the current development team's priority list.
(Edit) As noted below by EQ... it cannot be done with 1.7.

All I can suggest is that you might try working with some other CMS project that might be available in a text-database format.  ;)

Replace that line with this:
Code: [Select]
$query = ereg_replace("['\"]","\\0",$query);

Implementing a small WYSIWYG editor is not that different from the 1.6/1.7 version.

the reason why there is not a 1.6 version is the SUBSTRING part of the extras.  I then made it so, you don't have to use substring anymore, but I stopped developing the txtdb version.  1.7 cannot be done period because txtdb does not support joins
