Albert, I can add that, but I have to make a procedure then that would override the prefix if there isn't one.

That goes for those that just want to update to a newer version.

We would use this prefix for adding more languages?

Oh, there you mentioned something I'd forgot about, "prefix". Is the there a prefix inserted in the database with this version ?
A prefix of my choice ? So that I, in theory, could have more than one copy of sNews on my server just by altering the prefix for
each installation ? I would really like that...

Yes, that's the main idea. But also, this prefix is made because of the people with limited MySQL databases. Otherwise, you could just make another database, and another snews copy...

Yupp, get that. My Q was asked 'coz I'm one of those with "limited" MySQL. I have but one database, so I need that prefix if I want to use other implements on my site, such as guestbook forum and stuff. So this is great news for me ;).

Thanks a lot, Luka.

Hi Luka

the copy of the snews 1.3beta you have of mine has that all done for you ( I think!!)

I use 1 data base but have 15 snews comming from it.

Quote
Albert, I can add that, but I have to make a procedure then that would override the prefix if there isn't one.

Code: [Select]
// Database prefix = no
$s[table_prefix] = "";

//". s(table_prefix) ."articles
//". s(table_prefix) ."categories
//". s(table_prefix) ."comments

Quote
// Database prefix = yes
$s[table_prefix] = "snews1_";

//". s(table_prefix) ."articles
//". s(table_prefix) ."categories
//". s(table_prefix) ."comments

how is that

The thing with the XHTML validation is that I'm working on automatic and manual insertion of paragraphs, break rows and all, so that if you want so, you can insert your own headings, tables, etc. when creating or editing an article. The next release will validate I'm sure.

Also, there's thing that I think you'll like - there will be a possibility to add your own php code or include another file into the article. That will allow anyone to include sNews addons like catalog, download manager, link indexing, etc. However, sNews stays small, simple and independent ;D

Also, I believe that I'll finish everything in the next 2-3 days and upload it.

Albert upload your CEO version please so I can see it.
