a small snews SEO capabilities review
« on: November 30, 2006, 03:06:48 PM »

For about me, for years I've been searched for a light, fast, simple, LAMP/ SEO / WEB Standards! oriented CMS. And I found it - SNEWS!
During last two years I've been used Wordpress as my blog engine and I liked it, but wanted something more mindreachable, without ton's of everyday code corrections and mass of pluginsaddons I don't care.
I know a little bit of MySql, Php, templating and my choice of Snews was simple, as I tried almost all tiny / big / huge CMS's and never met the whole at once:
- simplicity, speed, light weight (LAMP)
- code separated from presentation (templating)
- SEO Properties (human-URL's, at first)
- W3C Standards: CSS/XHTML

The only complaint I have is absence of ability to create clear multilevel / logical structure with nested categories / nodes / or pages.
( I believe a tree-like web site structure can be achieved without hardweight MySql coding.)
Besides that I would say that thingie make me happy. How long that will last - I don't know. So long live SNews and its genius coders!!

Me too tobto, i am not very much fan of wordpress. it sometimes get hacked because it is such a popular system. so yea since snews is not as popular as wordpress and it is powerfull and seo friendly and does the job, so it sounds like a great choice atleast to give it a chance.

Well put AskMeQ... four good reasons why sNews is a good CMS choice to get started with.
1. Not as popular as WordPress (not getting nackered by hackers as often as WordPress),
2. Powerful (for its size)
3. SEO Friendly (puts Apache's mod_rewrite to good use)
4. It Does the Job!
