Crawl errors in excess of 404 sites
« on: March 30, 2011, 01:21:34 AM »

While trying to crawl to my site, I noticed an increase in the number of addresses the URL that displays a 404 error (not found on the page). So I want to correct these errors.
I know what the cause of this problem. At one point I changed the path location. from:

http://my-site.com/index/seftitle/
to
http://my-site.com/home/seftitle/

in that period, the registration of Google pages or articles so on :
http://my-site.com/home/seftitle/

so is there is any solution from htacces or some other file . which can solve this error  404.. means if someone visit some article which content this path (http://my-site.com/home/seftitle/) from google search... directly it will refresh him to this path (http://my-site.com/index/seftitle/)
take care ;)

I'm not .htaccess pro but this should work:

Code: [Select]
RewriteRule ^index\/?(.*)$ "http\:\/\/yourdomain\.com\/home\/$1" [R=301,L]
It's a basic 301 wildcard redirect.
